Bishop Ezeokafor Visits St Paul's Parish, Obeledu![]()

It was a jubilation and celebration galore like no other at St Paul's Catholic Parish, Obeledu in Anaocha Local Government Area, Anambra State, on 19th May, as the Bishop, Catholic DioceseBishop Paulinus Ezeokafor Ezeokafor embarked on episcopal visit to the parish. ![]()

Speaking during the homily, the Bishop called attention to the need to appropriate the gifts of the Holy Spirit which has been received today, the day of Pentecost and birthday of the Church. These gifts according to the bishop prepares one for eternal life, especially by living out the Christian calling. ![]()

The episcopal visit, which was generally adjudged to be remarkable for coinciding with the 2024 Pentecost Sunday, attracted scores of priests in the Diocese, who's who in Obeledu community, members of the St Paul's Catholic Men's Organization and their Women counterparts who colourfully dressed in their beautiful attires, among others, saw the administration of no fewer than 320 candidates for Sacrament of Holy Communion by Bishop Ezeokafor.![]()

Cultural dance, and acrobatic displays by Holy Childhood Association of the Parish, the pupils of Matter Dei Nursery and Primary School, Obeledu as well as Igba Jesu and Maria added glamour to the second part of the event, the civic reception.

Still in the spirit of the celebration of the Fathers Sunday, some representatives of the members of Awka Diocesan Catholic Men Organization, CMO today, 14th May, 2024 visited the priests residing the Priests Welfare Home, Awka. ![]()

Speaking during the visit, the President of the Association, Mr. Joseph Onuegbu, before handing over their gifts to the priests said that they came to celebrate the priests' commitment and contributions to the Church and the society and to assure them that their services to God's people has not been forgotten. ![]()

On their own part, the visibly grateful priests thanked and prayed for the members who visited them, even as they wished them well in their apostolate as fathers and heads of their individual families.![]()

Fides recalls that yesterday, 13th May 2024, some members of this Association also visited the Chief Shepherd of theBishop Paulinus Ezeokafor Ezeokafor, the Catholic Bishop of Awka in order to celebrate also with him. This took place at Bishop's office at the Awka Diocesan Secretariat Awka.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
